Last Saturday saw the opening of Elisabeth Blanchet's pop up Prefab Museum.
Elisabeth has been working on documenting the remaining prefab communities around the country and has produced a book of her photographs and invited artists who have also produced work about the estate to exhibit at the prefab.
You can see more of her work here on her website.
I started working on my project 'What is a dwelling?' over a year ago using Elisabeth's project and the websites set up by the residence campaigning to save the estate as a starting point.
I spoke to residents, photographed their homes and researched the history of the estate, amassing a large quantity of documents. This then became a fictional archive of the lives and dwellings of the prefab residence.
I created small scenes in shoe boxes which you view by peeking through a small hole, these are displayed on the shelves of the archive like small captured memories.
